Cornice (coving) repairs at Leeds
We recently completed a beautiful cornice and coving repair project in Roundhay, Leeds. This elegant Edwardian property suffered damage to its original ornate plaster cornice during building works, when acrow props and an RSJ steel beam were installed to make way for new bi-fold doors in the dining room.
Our team at Swart Plaster Mouldings was called in to expertly repair and restore the intricate plaster detailing, preserving the property’s period character and adding value to this stunning home.
How We Carried Out the Cornice Repairs
After carefully assessing the damage, we:
Removed loose and damaged sections of the existing cornice.
Took detailed profiles of the original moulding to ensure a perfect match.
Produced custom plaster mouldings in our workshop based on the original design.
Installed the new sections on-site, blending seamlessly with the existing plasterwork.
Completed a final fine finish and decoration-ready surface.
